Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the advantage of a private tutor?

Working with a private tutor can help strengthen subject comprehension, boost confidence, and build important learning skills. Working with a tutor provides students with individualized attention that they don't receive in a crowded classroom. This helps children who struggle to keep up, as well as those who aren't challenged enough.

Q: Why should I try Crested Peak?

Crested Peak is your first best choice because Mr. Hopper has extensive client history in the Gunnison Valley. Between the myriad cognitive conditions, he has worked with and the diverse palette of geographic work experience, John brings a level of program application structure and diligence and effective program pacing that brings noticeable results in mere weeks of intervention.

Q: What are a tutor’s responsibilities?

The educator’s responsibility is to review both academic administrative evaluative results and the parent's prospective concerns and develop a program that integrates serving the student's needs while achieving results to meet or exceed the individual's cognitive benchmarks for age and grade level. Crested Peak provides the expertise and experience to analyze medical and/or neuro-psychological evaluations to help parents determine the most effective course of action to help build confidence, improve subject acuity, and forge a path to academic independence.

Q: Where does tutoring take place?

All tutorials take place at 407 4th Street, Suite #6 in Crested Butte, Colorado. Mobile or home school configurations can also be arranged at a location of your choice.

Q: How much are tutors paid?

The cost of tutorials will vary based on students age, grade level, or specified programming choices. For example, a second grader receiving Math tutorials will be noticeably different than a high schooler doing an intensive SAT preparation course.
